What Does the E-Health Medical Content Advisor Role Involve?
The E-Health Medical Content Advisor provides strategic, technical, and operational leadership over medical content across MSF Ubuntu’s digital health ecosystem. In practice, this means ensuring that medical data models, indicators, metadata, clinical terminology, and reporting structures within platforms like DHIS2 and Electronic Medical Records (EMRs) are standardized, evidence-based, and aligned with MSF’s intersectional health data standards.
The role works closely with the Ubuntu health department, Data Science, Epidemiology, Medical Operations, country programs, and partner teams including MSF UK’s Manson Unit E-Health team — ensuring high-quality medical data supports operational decisions, program monitoring, research, and strategic planning across MSF Ubuntu’s portfolio.
Job Salary: Salary: An annual salary of EUR 31,216 at HQ Grade 9 based on a full-time appointment with an annual increment of 2% every year up to a maximum of 10 years

Job Responsibilities
The E-Health Medical Content Advisor position spans five major areas:
Strategic and Technical Leadership
- Lead governance and continuous improvement of medical content within MSF Ubuntu’s digital health systems
- Define and maintain standardized medical indicators, datasets, metadata, and clinical terminology
- Coordinate validation and approval of new medical content with technical advisors and subject matter experts
- Contribute to organizational digital health strategy and policy development
Program Support
- Provide technical support to country programs on implementing medical content within DHIS2, EMRs, and other digital platforms
- Maintain project-specific metadata as program needs evolve
- Support system testing, deployment, and rollout of medical content updates
- Coordinate annual reporting processes, including organizational indicators
Data Governance and Analytics
- Support medical data governance frameworks and dataset standardization
- Develop dashboards and visualization tools that improve data interpretation
- Collaborate with Data Science and Epidemiology teams to strengthen data quality and completeness
Representation and Coordination
- Represent MSF Ubuntu within MSF’s intersectional Digital Health and Health Information System communities of practice
- Participate in technical working groups on interoperability and digital health
- Engage with external partners, academic institutions, and software developers
Capacity Building and People Management
- Support the establishment of the E-Health team in the coming years
- Develop training materials and deliver workshops on medical data collection and use
- Mentor program teams and provide second-line support for medical content queries
Job Requirements
Who Should Apply: Qualifications and Experience
Education requirements:
- A Medical Doctor, Registered Nurse, Clinical Officer, or other relevant health qualification (essential)
- A master’s degree in public health, Health Informatics, Epidemiology, Digital Health, Health Information Systems, or a related field (essential)
Experience requirements:
- Minimum 5+ years of progressively responsible experience in humanitarian or public health programs
- Demonstrated experience with DHIS2, Electronic Medical Records, and/or health information systems, including medical indicators, metadata, and reporting
- Skilled in medical data management, analysis, and visualization
- Proven experience in supervision, mentoring, and training
Language requirements:
- Excellent fluency in spoken and written English is essential; French or Arabic is an advantage
